5 Quick and Easy Tips for Cleaning the summer

Summer can mean many things to many different people. While some people pack their bags and tour the world all season, others can feel much more at home with their children than during the rest of the year. With the constant back and forth between outside and your house and the daytime hours filled with lots of food, games and hosting, your house can become messier faster than you think.

We have put together 5 tips for cleaning summer houses to keep the mess and dirt under control.

1. Bathroom

With so many moments that you go straight from the pool or beach to the shower, it only takes a few trips before it looks pretty nasty. Grab a sponge and wipe your bathtub or shower quickly before the dirt turns on and it's more of a trouble (and a big job!) To clean. Slide a brush around the toilet bowl daily and wipe your mirrors with a finely woven microfiber cloth that leaves no streaks or lint!

2. Kitchen

The heart of the house! This place can become super messy super fast with all the action it gets. Quickly wipe your counters after meals to remove food spills or spills. Spray the outside of the stove, the table top and the counter with an all-purpose cleaner and wipe with a microfiber cloth or paper towel. A beautifully wiped kitchen immediately makes you quieter about those dishes in the sink!

3. Terrace / Deck

With beautiful blue, sunny skies and higher temperatures, you know we are in the patio season! If you use this area a lot, you want to clean it up and keep it clean for those patio parties and barbecues that you host. First rinse the entire area; a high pressure cleaner would be ideal! Use a stiff brush and scrub the patio thoroughly with your cleaning solution. Leave on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing the surface with your hose or high pressure cleaner. Make sure that no cleaning solution falls into your lawn or flower beds! This type of cleaning would kill your grass and flowers.

4. Laundry Room

Ah yes, and then there is the large amount of laundry that your washing machine must carry! From swimsuits to multiple changes due to the outdoor time, you want to keep your washing machine in top condition. A tip to clean your washing machine is to run vinegar through the washing machine - this will clean the inside and remove soap residue. Don't forget to empty the fluff catcher in your dryer! Wipe down with a damp cloth or a used fabric softener sheet.

5. Bedroom

At the end of a long summer's day you want to curl up in your clean bedroom. Store stray items that can overload your room clothing, books, etc. If desired, light a candle that promotes healthy, deep sleep and at the same time brings a fresh scent into your room.
